Be the Light, See the Light

✨✨✨✨✨Heather Ward ✨✨✨✨✨Artist and Educator

Heather Ward started her career as a photographer and painter having showings and working on commissions regionally in the Northern United States. She soon became a full time teaching artist and worked with arts and community nonprofits as a visiting artist and art instructor. Ward and her family moved to the South East where she began making little wooden sculptures with her oldest daughter. These folk sculptures lead her to create the business Star House. Most of her work for Star House is commissioned and is found in thousands of homes nationally and internationally.

Ward has been creating with clay since her teens. She produces work out of clay through the business name Be Heart.

Creating for Ward is a mediation. She finds  grace, truth, and wonder through creating and hopes to share a little of that with everyone who encounters her work.

Portrait of Heather Ward by her then three year old youngest daughter  "mama"

"I live and work in a tiny hillside cottage with my wildly creative family. Our home faces west so most evenings are filled with glorious sunsets over the mountains. The sunsets remind me that at the end of the day, when all is said and done, we are here to create and appreciate creation."                                                                                                                                                  -Heather Ward
